Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on post or you can live off post. If you live off post, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.

You can contact the housing office at 757-878-2977. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on post housing to include wait times.

Fort Eustis is home to the U.S. Army Transportation Corps and the U.S. Army Aviation Logistics School. The facility is now known as Joint Base Langley-Eustis as it was combined with Langley Air Force Base in October 2010. Joint Base Langley-Eustis is located in Hampton, Virginia and is one of the oldest facilities in the United States Air Force. Fort Monroe is set to transfer some of its activities to Joint Base Langley-Eustis as they are slated for closure under the Base Realignment and Closure initiative. The School Liaison Officer at Fort Eustis can be reached at Bldg 650 Monroe Avenue or by phone at 757-878-4025. The school liaison works closely with the Child and Youth Services Division. For those students living on base, children will attend the Newport News Public Schools. High school students will attend Woodside High School. Several private schools are also available. The Child Development Center also provides full-time child care and has an active home school group. The child care services division is located in Building 650, Monroe Ave or call #757-878-4025.
Housing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis is arranged by the Community Management Office and the housing office. The office can be reached at 757-878-2977. There are over 900 military housing units on post. Applications can be filled out and candidates will be placed on the waiting list. Fort Eustis housing is privatized, and Balfour Beatty Communities is in charge of family housing on the base. For off-post housing contact the housing office for a list of properties for sale or rent as well as available apartment complexes. Temporary lodging can be arranged with the General Smalls Inn which has over 500 temporary units which can be reserved for no more than 30 days. Reservations can be made by calling the Inn at 757-878-5807. Lodging can also be arranged by each military personnel’s individual sponsor.
